Since it locates on the highest point in Edinburgh, it provides a spectacular view of the surrounding city. Remember to go up by way of the Royal Mile if you are planning to make the climb. Outside the castle is a war memorial that you should check out, and don’t forget about the Scottish Crown Jewels that are on display in the Castle.
2. Arthur’s Seat
This is another place that you should visit in Edinburgh. Arthur’s Seat is the name given to the highest of a series of hills, and it actually used to be a volcano eons ago. Since it reaches a height of 832 feet, it is another great spot from which to get a full view of the city. If you want to spend some time outdoors and maybe even get a little exercise, this spot can be a great choice for you.
3. Princes Street
Regarded as the most famous shopping spots in all of Edinburgh, Princes Street is a mile in length and features a whole bunch of shops to visit. Besides, Princes Street features a beautiful view of Edinburgh, as well as Edinburgh Castle. There is also Princes Street Gardens where you can stop to have lunch from one of the shops on the street or rest your feet after a day of shopping.
